Have you heard?
J.K. Rowling is writing a new book! (yeah, no news here)
BUT! Have you heard it will be released on the 27th of September 2012?

That is not much to wait at all!! I thought years and years and years... and years would pass and we'd still have no new book, or even the title of it.
Though guess what? We have the title. And a little blurb.
HOW AMAZINGLY OVERLY SUPER DUPER COOL IS THAT?
The book will be called The Casual Vacancy and here's a little something on what the book's gonna be about:

"When Barry Fairweather dies unexpectedly in his early forties, the little town of Pagford is left in shock. Pagford is, seemingly, an English idyll, with a cobbled market square and an ancient abbey, but what lies behind the pretty façade is a town at war. Rich at war with poor, teenagers at war with their parents, wives at war with their husbands, teachers at war with their pupils...Pagford is not what it first seems. And the empty seat left by Barry on the parish council soon becomes the catalyst for the biggest war the town has yet seen. Who will triumph in an election fraught with passion, duplicity and unexpected revelations?"

This is, by far, the book i'm most eager to read. So come out already. Please.

What do you think of it? Does it sound intriguing, will you read it?

  1. Honestly, I am not excited by reading the blurb, and I don't want to go in with high expectations if I do read it. Harry Potter was just something so special in itself.
Which reminds me, I just saw the book announced on some tabloid cover with the headline "JK Rowling has a new book..and it's not for kids!"...made me smile. I see what you did there, scandalous subliminal messaging...

    1. It's not just the story, JK has a beautiful way of telling a story, I bet she could take an utterly boring subject and make it interesting.
I really am looking forward to this, all my YA reading needs something more... mature as well, every once in a while.
Of course Harry Potter was something special, even more special for those who got to read the books as kids. But we've all grown up since then and i guess the plot has to grow with us.
