Cassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.
Matched was such an easy, lovely read! I couldn't put it down, I was constantly reading it in class, whenever I got the chance...

The world Ally Condie creates is so vivid, not necessarily because of descriptions of how the society looks, but more because of how the society changed. You feel like you're part of that world, part of that... too shielded and protective realm. The Officials pretty much prohibited everything that could've led to anarchy, denied everything that could've implanted the idea of fighting for your cause.

Cassia has mixed opinions when it comes to the Officials. She thinks they're good, then she realizes maybe they're not, then the line sort of blurs... In the end, nothing is black or white, it would've been to simple if it were so.

There's a love triangle going on... I have to say, I'm rooting for Cassia to stick with a certain someone the entire series and even though I can clearly see where her feelings stand (with the guy I'm rooting for), I always feel like there's a big twist in almost every book that reveals the character might not be what it seems and thus ends the whole relationship. I'm hoping this won't be the case.

For one, she has Xander, her childhood friend. He's sweet and caring and with him, her life would mean family, children, obeying to the rules, sticking to what the population knows best. Then, there's Ky. Mysterious (there always seems to be a mysterious one in YA books), smart, staying true to what he knows, not denying what he's learned, what is out there to be discovered, basically everything the society resents, for thinking out of the box, for standing out from the crowd and having a mind of his own.

While the book wasn't that action filled, since it focused more on Cassia's best match, there were still very very intriguing parts that will keep you entertained. It was interesting to imagine this world, how careful you have to be when you're watched 24/7.

Overall, I enjoyed it greatly, that's why I'm giving it 5 stars.

    1. Glad you liked it!
Love triangles can be REALLY good, if they're written properly, both the characters AND the situations they're in.
The series is worth reading :)
